#BGA26 was a blast! Happy to have had the opportunity to present my work in Amsterdam and share one of my favorite research topics. Thanks to @lydiarader.bsky.social, @tabeasch.bsky.social, and @evangiangrande.bsky.social for such a great discussion and for their amazing talks!

Javier and Elliot (and the rest of us, all methodological credit them) did very smart methodological work to speed up GenomicSEM GWAS 800x... Basically they found and implemented a key closed form solution. Go do SEM over millions of SNPs, for tens of traits on a macbook, and it even wont heat up..
1/9 🚨 BREAKING OUT OF STEALTH MODE 🚨 Multivariate GWAS in Genomic SEM now runs on a laptop! New preprint + package update: a closed-form analytic solution makes multivariate GWAS ~800× faster, cutting runtimes from hours on HPC clusters to minutes on a personal computer.
A desk I won't forget! This week I completed my internship at WashU: such an amazing period! Thanks to @ecjohnson.bsky.social to open her lab to me and all the people I worked, discussed and learned with (pumpkin included🎃).
The paper you linked is one of my all time faves. It really forced me to consider the fundamental constraints on the research I do for a living. Yes! And also, what *is* stochasticity? is it true randomness, or some emergent chaos-emerging-from-minute-differences-in-environment thing?
A new preprint reports the largest genetic study of schizophrenia in people of African ancestry, identifying 3 genetic signals unique to this group using data from the Million Veteran Program (MVP) and the All of Us Research Program: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39252912/
