Individual differences in change for each of the Big Five across ages 0 to 80. The trend for each trait is that individual differences in change are decreasing with age.

What happens when war breaks out in the middle of a survey? On Feb 28, the U.S. and Israel launched airstrikes against Iran, as our global research team was conducting fieldwork. In several countries, views of the national economic situation worsened throughout our survey period.

The main point is that decisions about timescale are substantive theoretical commitments rather than methodological details, and they determine what kinds of change a study can detect and what inferences it can support. But there are a few central messages that flesh this out... 2/
