BOOKS: Confluence, Dreaming Home, Building Fires in the Snow. WORK: Writer's Digest, The New Quarterly, Prairie Fire, Grain, The Ex-Puritan, more.

Confluence—co-written by me and my late husband Alex Turner—is now an audiobook from Bespeak! Narrated by Dan Abramovici, it is available at most audiobook retailers. Kudos to Bespeak for producing audiobooks of titles by CA indie publishers. @ecwpress.bsky.social ecwpress.com/products/con...

Confluence: A Novel

An intimate, deeply moving queer coming-of-age novel that evokes '50s small-town life and the surprisingly wild pre-Stonewall '60s.

A wonderful evening at Toronto's Flying Books celebrating M. Jay Smith’s Cantaloupe! Great conversation about writing this wonderful collection, plus a terrific Q&A. Thanks to Jay for inviting me to moderate and to Basil and the rest of the Flying Books staff for being so welcoming!

I had a wonderful time visiting friends in Victoria. I splurged and stayed two nights at the Fairmont Empress, whose gardens are amazing. I also dropped by Bolen Books to sign copies of Confluence. Especially meaningful was my visit with the son of Alex’s best friend, and his lovely family. #canlit

My friend Andrew Smith has written a wonderful historical romance: The Boom of the Bittern. It has the man-on-man love we crave in this post-Heated Rivalry world. But what makes the book special is the sad tale of the environmental degradation of an ever-expanding late-19th-century Toronto. #canlit
