Of the 3 books I'm reading, I feel the most excitement when I return to LotR x) I'm not sure what that says about my tastes, but I like it!

Can't seem to stay asleep at night and it's been taking its toll x.x Running on bare minimum for spoons lately. Good news is an earlier appointment opened up for the thing with my neck (2 months earlier!), so hopefully that's a sign of things changing for the better.

Anyone else totally nabbing this idea? XD

Absolutely 🥰 It's so nice. Whenever I get it in written format, I try to screenshot the feedback, and then I save it into a "Happy Folder", that I like to sometimes go back through to remind myself that other people think I'm good at what I do, too.

Yes, I'm still reading LotR and The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress. I have two different reading spots and like to have one to take on the go (don't judge me 😜) and have a book for each now. Anyway, I'm finding my stride with both.

I like this so much, and it reminds me that the inverse is also true: the version of you that I create in my mind IS my responsibility and may not be an accurate representation of you at all!

Reading 'Two Talented Bastids' from You Like It Darker. I'm not just surprised by the subject (no spoilers!), but how well King handles it. I haven't finished it yet, but I'm about halfway through and still very drawn in.

I'm not sure what I want to create for the folklore jam. Rooster and Owl turned out *amazing* (thanks in no small part to @warpedboard.games ), but creating my own folktale that then ties right into a game is no easy feat. But basing it off of something already existing... I dunno. We'll see.

I went to the library and they had *none* of the books recommended to me for scary reads 😅 I put in a few holds that looked promising (shortest wait lists) and picked up "You Like It Darker" by Stephen King. It's his newest anthology and I hope to get at least a few short stories in for October x)

Finished reading The Shining by Stephen King. Great ending with a great little twist after the main climax. I can see why readers wanted to know what happened to Danny though. I might throw Doctor Sleep on my second list because I'm curious too. Next books are LotR and The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.

Trying to work my brain back to the game ideas I was excited over. It can be hard to shift gears though.

Feeling exhausted. Helped some of our best friends with their quail exhibit for the state fair over the last few days. It was so much fun, but wow I'm done peopling for awhile.

Just finished The Hobbit today. I love that the Battle of the Five Armies is summed up in a single chapter. I love how everything was wrapped up rather nicely. And I absolutely love this book. It's not only my favorite on the 100 book list so far, it's in my top 5 favorites ever.

As October draws closer, I'm looking for other horror book recommendations please! So far I've *really* enjoyed The Shining and Joe Hill's N0S4A2, and Lovecraft just doesn't do it for me (no hate please). I've yet to find a fictional horror that actually *scares* me though. Any recommendations?

Day 2 of the Infinity Hoop: Woo I'm tired! I made the mistake of forgetting until the family got home. Papa Newt found some music to put on while I was using it and of course I kept finding the beat XD Talked Papa Newt into trying it and now he's hooked! Looks like I might find a second one!

So though the wheels keep spinning and I have projects to finish, things have been moving slowly due to these last months kicking our butt for personal reasons. I know I need to sit down and just finish things, but it seems my brain is coping by problem-solving old WIPs and creating new ones x.x
