It would be so super awesome if we stopped shoving criminals and sex pests and racists into positions of power. I think I prefer when things are run by highly qualified, well-informed people from a variety of backgrounds with expertise in the given field and no history of doing horrors.

I would say email and texting are improvements in rapid and written communication. I know it hasn't been 40 years since it became a prevalent form of communication for the average person, but I think texting and emailing are good advancements. Oh, and medicines/drugs.

For the past five months the only refugees the USA has accepted are white South Africans fleeing equality & safety meanwhile they are disappearing or strapping ankle monitors on any Haitian they can get ahold of. It needs to be understood how thoroughly connected these two things are.
So was the entire thing a farce? Did the GOP say ahead of time, "Okay, a couple of us will pretend to have concerns that Blanche can pretend to address, then we can all vote to confirm him, so we can all pretend that we don't just do whatever Trump wants"??
Only two Republicans on the committee needed to have a spine and a moral compass for Blanche's bid to be dead in the water. But every single Republican voted to confirm and push proceedings to full Senate vote. They choose to allow this.

I think capitalist leftwingers also appreciate the ways they can leverage their privilege in capitalism and recognize that there are systems of oppression they benefit from that thrive under capitalism and could weaken under socialist policies.
