surprisingly, all of my stitches came out today, and i’m cleared to walk with supports (a post-op boot is all i need, surprisingly) until Wednesday, at which point i will be permitted to walk with supports if i need them, without if I don’t. i suddenly have way more freedom of movement.

Please stop saying “lockdowns.” There were never true lockdowns in the US, and it fuels far right narratives to repeat this inaccurate statement. You can say closures, you can say restrictions, or better, you can say public health measures which saved many lives.

We had stay-at-home orders, where although businesses were closed, you could still go outside whenever you wanted. Other countries had far stricter rules, and yet have been much more accepting of them as they saved many more lives.
sometimes my foot feels like it’s shooting electricity and that is no fun. post-surgery pain is… weird. i just hope it goes away as i recover. i… physically can’t rest more than i am, though. i take a prescribed painkiller (Naproxen) and some Tylenol to deal with the pain, and usually it’s fine
that one big article about how a bunch of americans were taught how to read wrong changed everything for me. now when i get a comment about something i never actually said i think oh, are you one of the kids that got taught three cueing instead of phonics? are you half guessing what i said

I always get sad whenever someone says how much they hated my gameplay in Sonic Adventure 2 because I was just doing my best to try to find the Master Emerald but I guess I'm just not good enough for them
first dressing changes tomorrow morning. in a week i believe the stitches on the bottom of my foot will be removed, and i’ll be cleared to begin walking (with assistance, probably). in the meantime, i will continue hopping on one leg, using a walker as a support.
just finished UNBEATABLE i felt a lot of myself in that game. a lot of messy feelings that are hard to navigate that aren't, perhaps, meant to be entirely "solved". i really loved it. gg

i was supposed to go home today, but i am spending one more night at the hospital, in incredible frustration, because the infectious diseases team got a little scared that i might have MRSA instead of MSSA, and thus decided to keep me while the culture develops for one more day.
new update: while the surgeries have gone well (swelling is down, infected tissues drained and flushed, stitches and dressings for two-three weeks), pathology results have come back indicating MSSA in my bone. in other words, i have osteomyelitis again. after 24 years.

The tissues and bone were seemingly not too damaged. still, they took a number of biopsies just to be sure. The biggest relief is that the pressure and swelling has reduced.
