This is the reason why SD on Blu-ray for Part 2 is reason to still be excited. Discotek has an eye for quality, and I remember years ago (around the time of the DVD release) they stated the HD master isn't worth pursuing. I'm inclined to agree, Part 2 looks best in SD.

Part 2 is not an upscale, it is a new film scan, however it's a very bad master with horrible filtering that ruins detail and adds ghosting in dark areas of the image (poor Jigen)
