If you're feeling mixed feels about July 4th this year, know you're not alone. The past ~18 months have been exhausting and demoralizing. But they have also shown us courage and hope; community and camaraderie. Thank you for showing up every day, even and especially when it feels impossible.

July 4 is a complicated holiday. I recognize the reasons behind the pomp. At the same time I don’t want to look away from the pain. I celebrate the people who have helped to make our entire world and the communities we are in better and more just places to co-exist.

Today we're recognizing a full year of #SaveOurSigns. We can't say we're "celebrating" this anniversary - but we are incredibly grateful to everyone who submitted a photo to the #SOSArchive. With more than 15,000 photos (!!!!!) we can track and monitor censorship of the signs in our national parks.
