And I think edits on FINAL_FINAL version are done (🤞)...Going to do a final_final skim through, then off to my agents tomorrow, eek! In case my position on AI isn't clear...I woke up to an email inviting me to write for an issue on AI and mental health, where they use AI generated content to promote it. PSA please don't invite me to write for your creative project if you are using AI in any part of its development 👇

I read your email with interest and thought that the issue sounded positive, and aligned with the issues I write about. However, on looking at your website and instagram page it became clear that you use AI generated content and art, and that is something I absolutely do not want my work associated with. If you'd really read or engaged with my work, you would understand my position on this clearly. I would also assume that if you're not valuing artists, you wouldn't value writers who work with you, and I notice there's no offering of a fee or renumeration. I'm a professional writer not in a position to do unpaid labour, unless for charitable or causes I truly believe in. Here is something I truly believe: AI is a dangerous and harmful technology. It steals work from artists and writers, it is a threat to the working lives of creatives, it is incredibly harmful to the environment, and it is pushed by unethical organisations with a myriad of other issues, including being used in war and genocide. I will never knowingly work alongside a supposed creative outlet that uses AI. I hope you reconsider your use of it in future.

Concerning that my insomnia is the worst it's been in years, while editing my horror book partly inspired by chronic insomnia, because I also really don't want to end up in the deep Scottish woods running from an ancient folkloric demon... 🙃
