Hi, my name is Lyra Evans, and I’m running for city council in Rideau-Vanier! Due to the importance of social media as a means of communication, for the duration of the campaign I will be reviving some erstwhile dormant social media accounts to provide updates and take questions from the public.
This is one of the problems with OC Transpo. 18 min car ride, 79 min bus ride. It's hard to ask people to take transit more when it is so overtly callous to the value of their time.
I'm running for council in Ward 12 - Rideau Vanier (Sandy Hill, Lowertown, Byward, and Vanier) to make a difference. In very brief: Affordability, homelessness, transit (bike+bus+train), mental health & addictions, end RTO mandate. More info at Lyra2026.ca

My 200$ Government of Ontario bribery cheque arrived, and I had a great conversion with the teller about how we both wished the government had spent the 3B$ on stuff we liked. Like education and healthcare
@glengower.bsky.social Do you know if you can buy an OC transpo daypass with a credit card when you get on the bus?

Tonight was the OSTA (Ottawa Student Transportation) board meeting. The elimination of the @OCtranspo youth rates will cost the local school boards millions. Public education funding shouldn't be used to fix holes in the city transportation budget, those funds are necessary for supporting students

I was comparing memories of winter with a friend of mine. We both remember more snow by this time of year. I was born at 355 ppm CO2 vs 424 at the same time this year - a 19.36% increase in atmospheric CO2. Gee. Wonder why there's no snow? 🫠
