French forces held a fierce defensive perimeter around Dunkirk and lost 18,000 souls. 40,000 became POWs. Without their resolve we wouldn’t have our nation’s story. It’s estimated 20-60k French resistance fighters died during the war. You’re only diminishing yourself with comments like this.

After decades of attending, filming & taking the pi$$ out of Far Right Fash Mobs in London, thought I'd check the local scene. Some Fash came to Central Forest Park, Hanley, Staffordshire. They hoped 250, claimed 80, I counted 30. Maybe. Some were there just to feed the geese.
I had some hope Healey might be better but all the stuff he’s briefing shows he understands nothing about the way costs divert to other services, escalate and multiply the more you try to dodge them. It’s not even conceptually complicated… a stitch in time saves nine.
The Guardian’s Achilles heel is Scotland, or more specifically Scottish independence. It prints as much nonsense, or outright falsehoods, as the rest of what passes for a media in the uk.
PP y Vox aplaudiendo.
The real issue on Ceuta is the lack of solidarity with a Member State under external attack for reasons of internal politics and political exploitation. Italy, Denmark, Finland, but also the von der Leyen Commission. Meanwhile, more than half have already returned to Morocco.
BBC News: Four ways to reform social care www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... All these options are about spending more money. But without cultural & process changes, & without fixing aspects of the NHS, England will simply be spending more money in the wrong ways - still failing to meet people's needs.
Social care: Four ways to reform the system
With Andy Burnham saying he wants to bring "substantial change" to social care in England, BBC Verify looks at what could be done.

"Unite the Clan managed to pull just 400 racists from across the UK after 3 months of planning for their national protest. Once again, we outnumbered the racists & far right ... Thank you to the wonderful people of Scotland for standing against racism &far right " via Afghan Human Rights Foundation
It's about time the media ditch the 'anti-immigration protest' names for these far right gatherings. They are racist, right wing, nazi, bigots. They target anyone that isnt white, their ranks are filled with scumbags doing nazi salutes, & they target people because they are muslim or think they are.
He's very interested in constitutional change, devolution to the English regions and electoral reform to name two key issues. He's just not interested in constitutional change for Scotland and Wales.
So all that stuff about 'giving communities more ability to shape their own futures' (Andy's pledge no. 5) was just a load of crap?

Thank you for keeping their memory alive. The Scottish men and women who stood with the Spanish Republic fought for values that reached far beyond Spain. Their courage, solidarity, and sacrifice deserve to be remembered with gratitude and respect.
Honor y gloria a los escoceses que lucharon a favor de la democracia en la guerra civil española. ❤️💛💜
Today marks the 90th anniversary of the Spanish Civil War. A total of 549 Scots volunteered to fight in Spain. Proportionally more Scots volunteered than from any other country. We still have a lot of work to do in Scotland to tackle fascism, racism, and all forms of discrimination.
Well comrades thank fuck that’s over, let the meltdown commence. 😢💧👅😋🖕🏼
Now Spain win this world cup so trump has to hand you the trophy. Can't wait
Not sure what BBC was like (perhaps I am) but Irish coverage was tremendous
I was at this game against Sporting in Faro last pre-season. We won that, fairly easily. Night and day to this awful performance.
Chance after chance for Sporting in the first 20 minutes, as Celtic pass sideways and backwards. The trauma returns. Remarkably still 0 - 0.
The French Nazis that Loyalists brought over to Sandy Row last night have spray painted a message of support for Gisèle Pelicot's rapist husband just in case you thought the "protect our women" brigade are anything other than human tumours
Hiding the words 'climate crisis' when a heatwave kills 440 people a day is a total failure of journalism. Treating extreme 37°C temperatures as normal summer weather actively gaslights the public. 🛑📉👇
Media omitting the climate crisis from lethal heatwave coverage reveals a systemic disconnect. Failing to link extreme weather to environmental breakdown creates a structural gap in public awareness. 📊📰👇
