The hanging works of the Lanceyard’s industry all about, its seating heart and smothering smoke welling up from beneath, the Relicéir stood four apiece as their fallen fifth was lowered into the furnace that would render of his armor a tomb.

“You can not know a place without returning.” From /Things Become Things: A Walking Memoir/ by Craig Mod
Little 4”x4” sketch (25-30 min.) of a spot in the house by the window and an empty footstool, usually populated by my doggo
10 min. Pen #drawing of an apple while waiting to leave for an application. Motivation to draw always improves when I remember the joy I get is from the drawing (verb) and not the drawing (noun).
“ I didn’t say it didn’t make sense, Chief, I just said it was talking’ crazy.” - /One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest/ by Ken Kesey
Happy 4th of July! The best of the USA has been born through struggle. We’ve come so far in 250 years, and we’ve got so much struggle and growth on the road ahead. We can do it, and we’ll be better for it.
"The completely self-contained 'individual' is a myth that needs to be replaced with a more flexible description," write Margulis and Sagan. "Each of us is a sort of loose committee." - from /The Light Eaters/ by Z. Schlanger
Sketch dump Finally home after an amazing time in Chicago! I got to sketch each day, which was nice. Amazing architecture. And a bean.
Making time for #drawing during travel is surprisingly satisfying! Way better decompression than being on a screen.
Reading about electricity in plants in Schlanger’s /The Light Eaters/ and appreciating that print does run on a draining battery. It just stays charged! ;)
Possible #drawing reference: I love the design around the legs and pedals on this piano (Arkansas Statehouse Museum)
The Alliance I've always loved Centaurs. Don't know why since I'm really horrible at drawing horses. But this came from a sketch done on a live and I'm happy with how it came out. Watercolor and Ink (and a little bit of gouache) on coldpress watercolor paper
A larger motif in /The House of the Seven Gables/, I ascertain as I read, is that all homes have the potential to become haunted, not by ghosts, but by each of us as we age, separate from communities and settle into loneliness. Hawthorne also provides a hope that this condition is reversible.
To George and Laura, Bill and Hillary — we're grateful for your friendship, counsel, and devotion to this country. And to Joe and Jill, thank you for being on this journey with us.
My variant cover for Magic: the Gathering Untold Stories - Liliana, coming this October from @darkhorse.com
More conceptualizing on this spiderdammed creature I made to put into my recent #shadowdark #dnd session. 1 hr. #drawing #sketch debating on whether or not I want to do a finished drawing of the creature in an actual setting and all
“A stale article, if you dip it in a good, warm, sunny smile, will go off better than a fresh one that you’ve scowled upon.” - Advice from Uncle Venner in /The House of the Seven Gables/ by Nathaniel Hawthorne (currently #reading)
