More police have been caught and charged with stalking women via Flock cameras than there are trans youth competing in sports. But politicians, billionaire authors, and other bigots feel safer denouncing a thin blue line only if there's pink and white with it.
I just honestly can't get over that Save Women Sports, an anti-trans group could only find five trans athletes competing K through 12. Five. The NCAA president testified a year and a half ago or so that there were less than 10 college level trans athletes. What the fuck are we doing, people
I cannot overstate how peaceful it is to watch a live-streaming exploration feed of an undersea rover. NA181 is done for now, but look forward to NA182 from Sep 22-Oct 12. These people are following the directive of sentient life: allow the universe to experience its own wonder. nautiluslive.org

There are many crappy videos of a partial lunar eclipse with clouds streaming by, but this one is mine.

I really enjoyed the wide shots in Odyssey on 70mm. The close-up shots aren’t good at all on such a large screen, the human eye is not meant to dart around an entire field of vision including 10 foot wide chins and noses. I think I will better appreciate Nolan’s enitre work when this hits streaming.

I understand the non sequitur appeal of Jimothy but need to point out Pawsimodo was an option.
The only thing better than a new Project Farm video (final boss of neurospicy youtube) is finding out you already bought the right thing.
I'm realizing that nearly all of my successful projects have been things that I'm not good at doing. The areas I struggle to find motivation are where I accidentally got kind of competent. Retained skill may be the greatest productivity killer. You know exactly how difficult a project will be.
A few hundred cherry tomatoes from my garden before heading into the smoker alongside some tri-tip and ribeye. The idea is to make some five-spice cherry tomato ketchup
I made two circular "neon" rings for a pair of windows in my house, using 3D-printed segments and a polyethylene tube for a diffuser. I did this in the winter. The circumference is about 9 feet, and I must now rejoice in being re-taught a lesson in differing expansion coefficients of materials.
@ericmigi.com Is there a way to put my watch on a "super stable release" update cycle somehow? I feel like I'm on a beta cycle with the frequent updates and my phone spams the notifications. But I don't want to mute the notifications and miss a critical update.
Someone on Nextdoor insisted as he's seen wind turbines move when he doesn't feel wind, and motionless during high winds, they must spin them using electricity and so they must always use more energy than they produce. If this makes you feel despair, consider voting. That guy does.
I've never seen the human condition captured more perfectly than this video about an egg maker 10 years ago (with the background audio) www.youtube.com/shorts/tQmFa...

Fence lizards are great. I love being able to walk outside at any time and probably see at least one mini dinosaur. This one was chilling on top of the wood pile and doing pushups.
If you are having trouble figuring out how to access anything via any API; local device, cloud account, bank balances, whatever: type your query in like "<stuff i want to access> homeassistant" and those people will have figured it out.
Never let anyone tell you the kindergarten hand turkey was a skill you’d never use later in life.
I like my EV and lowered dependence on fossil fuels, but in my experience nothing really happens to gas vehicles before 50k either. Oil changes and maybe one transmission fluid change. EVs have less to go wrong but still have mechanical wear. Maintenance shouldn’t be the deciding factor.
Adding (this didn't fit neatly into the thread) that this is another reason electric cars seem to me to obviously be the wiser choice when you can make it. I've had my car for four years and after 50,000 miles all it's needed besides electricity is a set of tires and a ~$500 coolant flush.
