In Super Mario Maker 2, failing the matching game in the World Maker will cause Mario's mismatched creation to emerge from the door, making him slowly back away in fear or disgust. Below are all the possible abominations Mario can create.

In the World Maker mode of Super Mario Maker 2, the Match & Win! minigame is directly based on the Spade Panel game from Super Mario Bros. 3. If Mario fails to match all three reels to create a picture of a single power-up, he will wait in front of the house... ...whereupon the mismatched object he created will emerge from the door. Mario will back off, seemingly in fear or disgust.
