The paper we count on to check authoritarianism spiked an investigation into the Democratic Party because the party’s lawyers threatened to sue. Holding authoritarians accountable starts with holding your own side accountable.

Hey, guys, when the librarians get pissed about the destruction of books, it’s time to put those listening ears on. Because we are very comfortable with the idea that books are tools that can be retired. What’s happening right now is not that.
I have destroyed lots of books. They won’t make an impact on the state of community knowledge. What is being described here? You are watching us lose knowledge in hyperdrive. You should not be chill about this.
I like this notetaking example. it is a good case of how gender works. Notetaking has never been about producing a transcript. It is a bureaucratic skill in the 20th c. organixarion because it is SENSEMAKING. Those women socialized to take notes? They have been doing men’s metacognition for them

Further interesting scenario is human recollection / notes (taken by habit by a person) conflict with AI summary

The GOPs problem is that Trump has run and governed exactly as men worry women will govern. He is an actual emotionally overwrought gossipy lightweight. If a woman is going to convince voters she can win, its probably going to be after the emperors clothes have come out dirty from the wash.

David M. Perry@lollardfish.bsky.social · 4d agoTrump is the lamest of lame ducks. The damage that he will do, and will try to do, over the next few years will be catastrophic. One of our best hopes is to persuade he allies that although he may escape justice, they will not.
My only comment about Woke 1 vs Woke 2 is that neither of these things is real &, for the thousandth time, we don’t have to frame <every topic in American politics> on the terms of the far right authoritarian party & right-wing pundits. Other, more serious choices are readily available:
