nothing about ai seems important. i watch all these smart people on the tl on twitter and it’s all just a hf inch deep at the deepest. the interesting problems are elsewhere now. it was interesting 5 years ago, now i just see all these social dynamics replicate which appear to leave no trace of love
my practical objection with naming chatbots is that you lock yourself into viewing the LLM as a stable singular thing, while one of the powerful aspects of LLMs is the ability to switch style/output/persona/goal/etc to whatever the situation calls for
what does it feel like to tell the truth when it’s a little uncomfortable? what would it feel like to be around someone who has chosen to do that, consistently, for a decade? what would it feel like to work with, be friends with, love them? how would you feel when they showed up?

i spent today meditating on welcomeness and practicing it where i saw opportunity. I was especially interested to find a distinction between creating space for another person or thing by stepping back so they had space, vs moving towards w warmth & greeting.

I neglected to post this a week ago when I started it, but I made a mint blueberry soda which finished up today taste is really nice. carbonation is low, but still pleasant. I also made a syrup with the leftover solids that turned out, for the better, more like a jam or spread. also nice
