The simple act of taking a shower today made me scream in pain and sob in despair. This is the pain I go through every day, in the shower or not. Sometimes it's lighter and sometimes, like today, the pain is nearly intolerable. I have an appointment with a specialist next month. I hope he can help.

Any time I feel stressed I watch this GIF of my Winnie in her silly antlers. Can you tell she was a feral dog before we got her? I can't either. She came housebroken and never gets up on the furniture. Just an amazing dog.

My cousin contracted polio the year before the vaccine came out. She was in a wheelchair and had a severe speech impediment her entire childhood. Eventually she used leg braces to stabilize her walking after years of painful physical therapy. She was one of the lucky ones. Get freaking vaccinated.
Robert Reich@rbreich.bsky.social · 6d agoI'm old enough to remember when polio put my friends into iron lungs. We dutifully lined up at school to get vaccinated. We eradicated the disease. We protected the common good and saved lives. What RFK Jr. is doing to public health in America is a disgrace.

When it comes to your children’s health, listen to doctors. Not a president who once told Americans to inject bleach. The American Academy of Pediatrics’ immunization recommendations have not changed.

When you need calm and to feel more centered. I am so lucky to be told every day that I am loved. I never take that for granted; prolonged hard times teach you that. I try to stay positive that I will be able to walk again someday. It's going to be a long slog even if they can operate. 🤞
