neurodivergent complex trauma survivor trying to move through a world built by and for complete clowns

Anti-AI folks eating their own brings me no joy. Yet I don't feel bad for them because they helped create the caustic, bullying anti-AI name-and-shame campaigns that have hurt so many of us neurodivergent and disabled folks using AI assistive tools to live better lives.

I mean, to some extent, the damage has been done. There are people who saw the list and took it at face value and decided I'm not an author they trust. That hurts both like emotionally and also financially since I do rely on my sales to pay for my meds.

No Kings isn't organized at all - by design. NK is how status quo powers dissipate mass rage to ensure we don't truly organize and threaten the status quo. Those disconnected Saturday morning protests-of-convenience are just enough for folks to vent, but not so much that anything real changes.

Hello: actual co-organizer of No Kings here: these texts are not from anyone who actually organizes No Kings. Please trust that we hate them just as much as you do

The endless "AI is really just like this other thing I don't like, if you think about it" screeds from writers are really becoming quite tedious. And, whew, the false equivalence between "I don't think new tech is going to benefit me, a non-tech everyman" and "I'm in despair" is rather funny.

🐴 The Odyssey - the story of the aftermath of Greeks bearing gifts - is having a moment. So too is the story of the public bracing for AI. In the UK only 27% of the public thinks it'll improve their lives. My piece on why this long hot summer feels like one of mounting public despair in AI 👇🏽

Plastic surgery is really no different than makeup, a push-up bra, spanx, hair dye, fake eyelashes, extensions, wigs, or any other cosmetic anything intended to make women look better than they actually are. Seems like a draconian definition of feminism if any of that makes a woman a bad feminist.

Regarding smart glasses in general, I have no wish to become a walking computer monitor But ... ABC Radio Brisbane had a caller, who is blind, and his glasses read cafe menu's, tell him if there is something in front of him, and will tell hime about EVs...which make no sound Life-changing

Thanksgiving was alwaye the meh of major holidays. And the food really isn't even that good if we're being honest. I mean, if the food was that good, people would eat it more than once a year.

Smart glasses. Blind and low vision people will be wearing smart glasses. When they’re cheaper and better I’ll use them. So it won’t just be creeps and jerks, take a moment to check before you slap anyone for being gross with this tech.
