Its not a polling issue its a power issue, not electricity, political. They dont want the tax money flooding rural counties and making them independant of the local landed gentry and all of the anti ai folks are helping local autocrats stay in power. This is why Marx said luddites were reactionary.
Makes me wonder how bad Republicans’ internal polls are in Texas
i support [$democratic_candidate] for [$public_office] and believe that their politics is a perfect fit for [$state]. I would drag my [$genital] over [$harmful_object_or_substance] to vote for [$democratic_candidate] this fall.
I support the winner of the Michigan Democratic primary as the future senator from Michigan.
i have been SAYING this since deepfakes started to even get on the table. the real harm to public discourse isn't gonna be fakes, it's gonna be ACCUSATIONS.
a general note as well: something being written by AI or not does not change the validity of the underlying information it's a non-argument, an inversion of an appeal to authority
...much of what I say reiterates points other writers have made about the scourge of LLMs & AI writing. but I don't think any of us (writers or general public) are prepared for how bad actors are about to wield false accusations against writers they dislike: juliaserano.medium.com/on-em-dashes...
Haha wonder what else this applies to.
Like. Do we WANT a toxic culture of doubling down, coverups, & never admitting mistakes? Because "any admission of error can fuck you up worse than pretending you never messed up at all" is how you GET a toxic culture of doubling down, coverups, & never admitting mistakes.

I would like to propose the Taco Bell Principle When a person/institution Did A Problem, & IMMEDIATELY fesses up & takes proactive steps to solve it That's exactly what we want them to do? So how bout we let them live ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
A quick word on Taco Bell: That's where we found the suspected lettuce, and it's not bc Taco Bell is gross. It's bc Taco Bell is REALLY GOOD at tracing product! Keeping track of exactly where they got their ingredients, & exactly what restaurants each shipment of ingredients went to!
Hey wheres that post that fomalized some buddhism concepts into lean proofs
Doll has been working on erdos 881 and already found a partial solution
So, bluesky, where is the discussion of the absolute insane things AI is doing in the realm of mathematics? It seems like we're nearly at the inflection point where the models are as good as human domain experts, and soon may well be better. Is that discourse only happening on twitter?
Please hire my partner so we can move somewhere that’s not Boston! (Also my partner is very smart and experienced):
Check out D Scarnecchia's path so far on Sifa 📄 @scoiattolo.mountainherder.xyz
Good lord I wish some of you could read on this text based social media website.
Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."
> A live multiplayer game [that no one, including your fans, has heard of?] with a 25-year-old codebase, a Jython-to-Kotlin migration, a custom protocol, prod ops, and a multi-agent society [lmao] layered on top is about as rich a surface as software work gets. amazing, thank you opie

A ritual object worn as a reminder of obligations and ethics, huh Wonder what that’s like
oh
I can’t believe these companies all hired security experts and juiced their output so it would look like the models were actually capable of doing all this stuff.

so I told the CEO it sounds like he’s just feeding tokens to Steve Yegge and then his accountant started crying
From Yegge's most recent extrusion: > On the side I do occasional six-figure gigs where I fly to companies and teach them my techniques, and that helps with my (considerable) token bills. Hey! I will come teach your teams actual ball, things they can actually use, for *substantially* less!
there are many people who work in the ai coding field who are keeping up with the almost daily changes, able to give a good review of where things are and where they're going, and where the industry is headed. steve yegge is not one of those people.
If you want to pay six figures to a vibecoder pick doll instead you will get a lot more for your money
oh gas town didn't work you say yegge.ai/essays/the-s...
If you remove Steve Yegge from the dataset, the average global water consumption of AI drops to zero, because he is drinking it all to feed the Polecats.
like. man. people paying this guy six figures a pop for...WHAT? if you want stuff that actually works, I'm pretty sure I know a discord Fulla Guys, Gals, And Non-Binary Folks who individually and severally have produced more usable work and spent literal penny-shavings in comparison
oh gas town didn't work you say yegge.ai/essays/the-s...
"average person using Ai burns gallons of water" factoid actualy just statistical error. average person burns 0 gallons of water using AI. Steve Yegge, who lives in cave & uses billions of tokens each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted
