This past weekend, we brought West Coast Hip Hop torchbearer Kalan.Frfr to World Famous VIP Records in Long Beach for a headlining show presented by FX, celebrating the lineage and history of West Coast Hip Hop. Drop: Snowfall Legend. As G-Funk scholars know, VIP Records was no ordinary old record store—in the late '80s and early '90s, owner Kelvin Anderson turned the store's back room into a music studio, providing a sanctuary for neighborhood kids to stay out of trouble and unleash their creativity.
