🥳 (also imagine your country hating your sexual identity so much that they are willing to spend time and money to almost endlessly argue about it in courts) but still 🥳

Nov 25 (Reuters) - The EU's highest court ruled on Tuesday that same-sex marriages must be respected throughout the bloc and rebuked Poland for refusing to recognise a marriage between two of its citizens that took place in Germany.

The court said Poland had been wrong in not recognising the marriage of the couple when they moved back to Poland, on the grounds that Polish law does not allow marriage between people of the same sex.

"It infringes not only the freedom to move and reside, but also the fundamental right to respect for private and family life," the court said.

I like that one of the Amazon categories on the main page is "Same Day & Overnight". - I don't know what I want to buy but I want to get it the same day, or maybe overnight, yes!

It’s widely known (and, I think, pretty uncontroversial) that learning requires effort — specifically, if you don’t have to work at getting the knowledge, it won’t stick. Even if an LLM could be trusted to give you correct information 100% of the time, it would be an inferior method of learning it.

Relying on ChatGPT to teach you about a topic leaves you with shallower knowledge than Googling and reading about it, according to new research that compared what more than 10,000 people knew after using one method or the other. Shared by @gizmodo.com: buff.ly/yAAHtHq

Random q to all you London-based cybersecurity people: is there a space where I would be able to do free hardware hacking workshops for the community? :)

Law enforcement: we need to break encryption to get access to Signal to protect the children!! Also law enforcement: for years couldn’t catch a pedophile sex trafficker who used email to coordinate all of his pedophile sex trafficking

13) This isn't news to me, but the manosphere complaint that "you can't compliment anyone anymore!" is bullshit. I compliment people constantly, all day, and get warm smiles and heartfelt thanks and watch people walk away in a better mood. The secret is not being a gross creep about it.

When a BBC reporter can do this, without privileged access to communications data, I find it hard to accept law enforcement's constant claim that they are "going dark" because of encrypted messaging. Encryption is not the main obstacle to effective law enforcement. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
