If you have to DNF for any reason, you do that. Some books may seem innocent at first and then trigger you, so if you gotta put it down, then drop it like it's hot. Me, personally, as an author applaud you for ever even picking it up and giving it a go.

Tomorrow I need to have a good reason why I am 1.5 days behind schedule on a work project. So far what I have is "Well see @malwindsor.bsky.social wrote a thing and @holdtheday.bsky.social said I should read it and I really couldn't figure out why I hadn't yet and *blink* it was Thursday night."

I love that point in outlining where the feeling of the project goes from, "Okay, these are things I could write, this could work as a story" to "Ooh, okay, now we're talking, let me at it!"

Keep seeing posts likening America to the Titanic. Fairly accurate I suppose, except that the staff who won’t let Irish kids in boats are gloating DOGE teens and instead of a sympathetic four piece band to play us out we have Green Day and Pussy Riot.
