I wrote a letter of support for someone facing ICE detention. His attorney informed me last week that he was released from ICE custody the week prior. He’s back with his family and community. Some good news! If you have the chance, write a letter so someone can go home.
While I’m at it, there are less and less chips in bags of potato chips. It’s like 50% air and they charge $5/6 dollars for it. I low key can’t afford snacks anymore because they’re rigging everything. Also $1 for ONE onion?! They trippin’.
I don’t care about BTS or any other music in that “genre.” They repackage Black music and sell it to the masses in a way that is palatable to non-Black people. No thanks in 2026 when Black youth are being lynched. I truly do not care.

FYI there is no "real" reason why Rome "fell." Its power waned for the usual, mundane reasons: widening gap between rich and poor, inability to maintain infrastructure, incompetent leadership, pointless wars, endless persecution of marginalized groups who performed vital labor, etc.

Wow. The ICE shooter in Maine asked his ex-wife to "to lie for him and to cover for his character." She said he was abusive and had previously reported concerns about him to his military superiors. He was also a volunteer firefighter, but was removed after several spats with department leadership.

Tyler Perry has mommy issues. Just rewatched Why Did I Get Married, Too? Dude is super repressed. None of the women are represented well and Tyler’s character is always the “good guy.” 🙄 I’m also wondering what’s going on with these allegations. Like I believe them all after watching this movie.

Do white USians wonder how it feels like for non-white people to live in a country where the President is a full on racist white supremacist? Like where he announces every single day that you are inferior, unintelligent, and need to be eliminated from the country?
One thing I hope we’ve learned from all of this (waves hands around) is that focusing on multiculturalism without an analysis of power is how we got MAGA people in line at the taco stands. They’re literally destroying the lives of the people whose food they love and they don’t think anything of it.

We have to talk about how Disclosure Day carries symbolism of immigration. Sci-fi enthusiasts have long been talking about how sci-fi narratives often serve as a stand-in for discussions of race, gender, class, and immigration. Disclosure Day is another film to analyze in that regard.
