Is there such a thing as an somewhat agreed upon pricing for comic patrons?
Doesn't sound right but I think this might be my first proper editorial illustration. Work was for the Swedish trade association of illustrators and graphic designers. (Svenska Tecknare)
Hugely sad. We've lost John Blanche. It's hard to know where to begin. He set fire to a generation's imagination, and those fires show no sign of stopping burning. His work very much illuminated the darkness.
Probably the trickiest thing I have ever tried to do on the a risograph. The edition inadvertently became quite small.
For those who wanted an update on the beehive, this guy found it before the bees did, he wasn’t very pleased when I checked inside.
Can you be happy with a drawing while at the same time be 100 percent sure you will re-do it?
Hey Hey #portfolioday I'm Marcus, a Swedish illustrator, children's books author and general draftsman. Looking for work in storytelling or culture, or just drawing in general. marcusjernberger.myportfolio.com
Built an old school beehive, the fittings are a bit anachronistic, but waste not want not. Next part is to attract some bees!
Since I have stared drawing them myself I would like to pay homage to the memetic lineage that made jōmon ceramic swirls shorthand for the "mysterious ancient"
I didn't expect it but I'm going to thought bubble! My stocks feel woefully empty, but now I have a good reason to let the riso run hot! Also drink beer with me!
There's something satisfyingly anachronistic about risographs. I don't know any other situations where it's both about scouring old internet forums for archaic admin codes and having your hands covered in oily gunk at the same time!
I finally drew an actual comic (test) page for this project. Scary stuff!
