Science fiction scribbling, horror loving, fantasy and crime consuming NHS herbivore bloke. Wrote a bit of film and book review guff over the years.
‘Oh, she was a rare thing Fine as a bee’s wing So fine a breath of wind might blow her away.’ Fantastic Richard Thompson set yesterday… one love
Post music festival film viewing is low, low brow… and all the better for it…
Quite the provocativeand periodically vicious anthology of noir ish crime vignettes. MIchel Simon as Maigret is the standout for sure…
Nice, I just rewatched that one for the first time since it's premiere. Now I remember why, certainly a time capsule.
May qualify as the most spectacularly awful musical I have ever seen… a traumatic experience I wont easily forget

The awful news keeps coming too: RIP filmmaker and Schlock Pit pal John Lechago 💔 Lovely, lovely bloke and one helluva talented director and artist. He helped me and @snipsmovies.bsky.social so much over the years. Will never, ever forget it. Thoughts with his family.
Apparently they’ve been filming the new Batman film on the Runcorn Bridge, (Silver Jubilee Bridge) over the Mersey nearby these last couple of days… no sign of the Bat signal tonight though on my way home… Alas.
I showed THE APPLE to a group of about 50 HS students in 2007 and they had a glorious time. "Hey, hey, hey! BIM's on the way!"

was just looking at this earlier today because it’s playing at the academy museum next month, so interesting Brando directed after Kubrick stepped away last minute?

"Get away from her, you bitch!" #Aliens turns 40! #JamesCameron's balls-out #scifi sequel upped the action while maintaining the spine-tingling #horror elements of #Alien A bona fide masterwork that refuses to date in its ability to leave you breathless vhsrevival.com/2019/11/11/h...
Hear Them Scream: Aliens & the Rise of the Xenomorph
A sequel that lives up to an original picture is a rare thing indeed. Even rarer is one that in some ways surpasses it, but director James Cameron managed to produce two of the most astonishing of …

Kick started the 50s science fiction cinema boom in the US and I’ve never seen it. Bonus feature. It has Woody Woodpecker in it and the very same technicolour spacesuits that would feature in Herge’s Tintin. Hard science fiction storytelling done right. great stuff.
Back to the Arrow Shaw Brothers boxsets with this un… Shaw Brothers training montages have never been bettered…
