Neurobiologist studying the prefrontal cortex ⚾🏀🍺🧠🎶

I'm recruiting a PhD student to study how enkephalins affect cognitive processing in the rodent frontal cortex. The project uses pharmacology, multi-electrode recordings, and fiber photometry, and is funded by NIDA. Please share with trainees applying this cycle. Thanks!

Please RT 2 new positions in the lab as postdoc & PhD! Interested in stress, pain, or reward? This project has it all! We are a friendly but ambitious group. Oslo is a capital city on the fjord & bordered by forest, great urban & outdoors opportunities: 💃 ⛷️ 🚣 🎭 🎶 www.jobbnorge.no/en/available...

Thrilled to finally share good news on a new grant for my lab! It has been a long wait after the grant received an outstanding score back in March from the NMB study section and was approved by council in early May. Anyway... time to get on it! :-)

(1/10) Happy to share a science update! 🧠🧪 Our @natureneuro.bsky.social article shows how inhibitory neurons calculate “subtraction” or “division” to adjust visual sensitivity! This one has it all – behavior, optogenetics, modeling, cell types, subthreshold mechanisms. Quick thread 🧵below

Lateral inhibition in V1 controls neural and perceptual contrast sensitivity - Nature Neuroscience

The role of lateral inhibition for perception and neural computation remains unsolved. Del Rosario et al. show that distinct types of cortical interneurons in V1 drive lateral inhibition that causes s...
