As the weather warms up again here in Cornwall, we’re working on a wine list catalogue, some promo menu clip-on hangers, and a fun animated email footer for an industrial client. Heading into the weekend ☀️ #design #graphicdesign

Halfway through this cheeky fruity tome - thoroughly enjoying. I’ve never worked directly in the wine trade but 3 decades brushing shoulders working for the trade as a designer & I def recognise the characters. A fun read & I look forward to others in the series by @peterstaffordbow.bsky.social 🍷
We need apple pickers for this year's harvest!💪 Harvest is still a few months away, but we need of hard-working individuals to help us pick apples on our farm in Tenterden, Kent. We pay competitively and are a great team to be part of. 1/2
Today’s design tasks - a short quarterly charity report and a range of sizes & versions of animated wine ads for use on Meta platforms by another client. Busy end of week. #design #advertising #reports #animation
Have been neglecting updates! We’ve been recently busy with Hatch Mansfield on their London Wine Fair stand graphics, helping R&R with their PIWOSA wine tasting collateral, and my local youth charity with reports and flyers. Plus a couple fun logos and animated gif work. #design life!
Design legend Margaret Calvert is 90 today. Look at that cake! If you've ever admired a road, rail or metro sign in Britain it's likely she had something to do with it. One of Britain's design heroes - happy birthday to her. Photo by: @oshgallerylondon (IG) Cake by: mybaker.co
Until this year I don’t think I’ve ever seen an em dash — in any client copy, yet suddenly they’re all over the place, looking ugly and out of place. What’s that all about? I’ve been quietly replacing them with less offensive looking punctuation 😉
Tried generative AI in Adobe Illustrator using a detailed description to work to, asking it to use an element already on the page to build a vector graphic. Results were a complete fail. Is AI really taking our jobs …. Yet? It couldn’t even fill the space I asked to fill. It was like clip art…
A quiet design week, some exhibition display artwork involving interesting photo compositing edits and a new customer form for clients, and exploring interesting print binding techniques like Singer sewing, while trying to keep me and the cocker spaniel cool!
Always great to meet up with long time clients but this week it’s a start to find new clients to help. Businesses in Cornwall, Devon and beyond, I’d love to help you look great and grow with lovely designed brochures - printed and online, ads, display materials, branding and more! Get in touch.
Having fun getting the colour of rose right for a line art drawing visual for a rose champagne client 🍾 . The colour I sampled apparently looks a bit orange. So I’ve gone back to 5 different neutrally lit reference photos and sampled the rose colour. All shades of orange! The eyes play tricks 😉
Pleased to get the last of our clients graphics production orders out to suppliers today. Next stop installation alongside the stand build contractor at London’s Olympia for London Wine Fair 2025! #wine #design #exhibition #graphics
Plenty to do in this shorter Easter run up week. London Wine Fair graphics prep for one client plus a few other things. #design #graphicdesign
This is great, although I will defend the Oxford comma with my dying breath
This is high art
@farplace.bsky.social thanks for the follow. A name I recognise thanks to design work with Dave at Stamps n All.
Today’s design tasks:- order some lovely 400gsm Uncoated postcards on GF Smith Munken Pure card for a sparkling wine client. Plus POS display visuals and letterhead designs for another. If time allows start on another client’s London Wine Fair stand graphics. #graphicdesign #print #pointofsale
