Private equity choking UK health and social care. Taking over mental health, elective care insourcing, patient transport, social care. Control of GP surgeries, IT systems gives PE access to patient records. PE devours everything. Profiteering leaves less for frontline services.

Not sure the radio ad by UK National Highways is all that effective. I don’t remember the key TRIP points because I’ve just been patronised by a precocious kid! I’m sure they mean well but message delivery is irritating and so I am not listening.

Mark Fairhurst, Chair, Prison Officer's Association, "We had 2,400 more staff in the 1990s than we do now, and now we're locking up twice as many prisoners" "The Conservative government closed 23 prisons, lost over 10,000 cell spaces, imagine if we had those now, we wouldn't be in this mess now"
The Times just ran a whole piece on England's manufacturing collapse since 2020 - and didn't mention Brexit once. Our research is clear: EU membership would boost the very regions hit hardest by deindustrialisation. Easier trade helps manufacturers most.
PSA: The recipe for economic growth isn’t tax cuts for the rich. It’s investment in our people — in health care, infrastructure and education — to build a strong middle class. You don't grow the economy through trickle-down nonsense.

The Tories, under Badenoch, have decided to be unelectable, opting to disappear into the wilderness. Is this the end of the Conservative Party? The Conservatives have lost so many natural Tory voters already and chasing after Reform and Restore is mad. Those voters already have a ‘home’.
The Conservative reshuffle, such as appointing Lam of all people, shows that Badenoch has fully given up on any pretence of trying to appeal to old school Tories and is instead rushing to challenge Reform and Restore on who can be furthest to the right.
90 percent of the bad publicity around AI is directly and entirely the fault of AI promoters. It is not great that an extremely important and interesting technology has the worst people on earth shaping its direction.
Data centers aren't new but the concept of a data center that can exist in the real world near you is new to a lot of people because they used to go up with no more fanfare then a warehouse but now they announce them as "your town's chance to be part of the AI revolution" which is kinda an own goal
Pleased to see Tories are still incapable of learning the lesson that “ending the war on motorists” is not an election winning stance in London, which has the highest walking & cycling rates, lowest car ownership & best public transport of anywhere in Britain. It’s like they don’t know any of this
Please be vocal about not using AI. We have to normalize it. No "I'm not going to say that because it should be assumed. I'm not going to give them this". We don't have time for that shit ideological shit right now. NOW is the time to capitalize on waning favorability. Ppl want human made

Given how much South West Water has hiked bills these last few years - I was shocked I was using less water but last bill they wanted MORE money - I almost called to protest but what’s the point? Had water companies actually invested in the last 30 years they wouldn’t need to dump sh1t in the sea 🤬

Careful what you wish for Tr@mp. Lake Ontario is the transit route to the other Great Lakes serving cities like Detroit, Milwaukee, Chicago. The access for these crossing between Lake Ontario and Lake Erie, is the Welland Canal, which is wholly in Canada. Canada holds the cards… #LakeAmerica NOT!
They told us Brexit would save lots of money (that would all go to the NHS). In fact it’s costing us a fortune (and constraining our ability to fund everything).
*sigh* An "AI" does not "escape containment", as breathless news articles claim. It is *told to do something by its programmers*, then it *goes and does what it's been told*, then the corporation it belongs to releases a statement to drive fear-based engagement and media laps up the lie.
