A little something I like to revisit this time of year. When I read this in 1998, I had no idea bell hooks was welcoming me to the adult basic education class I found myself teaching in 2001, in a community where I felt whole and where I belonged, two feelings that were novel to me at the time.

Learned a new word today. Last week I led some folks in an exploration of probability w/ a game of roller derby, where you roll 2 dice and look at the sum. Looking at our results—w/ its messy but triangular distribution & that tower of 7s—I’m calling it a Punktlandung. #ANNMath #MTBoS #ITeachMath
