Capitalism is based on constant growth. But resources and consumers are finite resources. Companies and a few people are getting richer than they’ve ever been. The rest of us can afford less and less. With AI there’s going to be more people unemployed. Is capitalism cannibalising itself?

Perhaps a novel take: if we in so-called developed countries don’t want migrants to come, how about we actually do something to ensure that the places they come from have liveable conditions? Tbh it would probably be a lot cheaper overall.

One of the most important lessons I have learned in life is: while it’s important to have compassion for others, it’s just as important having compassion for yourself. You can have compassion for someone and understand their trauma, while having enough compassion for yourself to not be mistreated!

For fun, I tested out X! Elon was raging about not wanting to pay protection money to the media! Clever strategy! Discredit all media, so nobody will believe the truth if it comes out! I was gobsmacked by the amount of people who think he has the best interest heart and isn’t just self-serving!

A couple of pictures from my evening walk yesterday - a rare one of the little mermaid without tourists! The others are from Kastellet which is an old fortress behind the little mermaid and still an active military base. However, there’s access for regular people and it has nice views.

…enjoying the sun slowly starting to set with my feet in the water, a few but tiny raindrops falling on me and meditative music in my ears… And the little Mermaid to my left with only a couple of tourists left at this time in the evening!

…the kids have gone on summer holiday with their father and for the first time in over five weeks, I have some time to myself! 16 days - the most I have had for the past eight years. I’m looking forward to being able to focus on creating art and writing and researching for the novel I started on.

This book just arrived! I ordered it a while ago! I’m really looking forward to reading the book that Jung didn’t publish while he was alive and that wasn’t published until nearly 50 years after he passed away! He feared he would be labelled a mad man, if anyone read it.

Just had a pretty scary experience! Two men I don’t know kept ringing my doorbell after midnight, waking up my children. I told them to leave. They refused. Then they walked around the building block I live in and started knocking directly on my windows. My kids were crying. Had to call the police!

Why do so many people confuse materialism with the path to happiness? Even so many religious or spiritual people. Science shows that the threshold above which money will make you happier is pretty low and it can even make you less happy. And all religions tell you to not be a greedy bastard.

At the cinema watching Minions! I always had a soft spot for the Minions. However I also see similarities to people who always follow the herd blindly and disregard their own intuition and moral compass. It’s what got Trump and others like him elected!

…I think religious scripture is meant to be read, not literally, but the way we read myths and fairytales! There might be a valid message, however i isn’t found if you read it literally! Nothing has divided us more through times than religion. Perhaps that’s what the tower of Babel tries to tell us!

This is how most of my artwork is created. It’s assembled intuitively after finding the right pieces, photographed and then disassembled and recycled in other works. Just like real life it only exists in a fleeting moment after which all that remains is a photograph!

Yesterday I came across this picture that I painted before Trump’s second presidency started! At the time I thought it was outrageous and too much, because surely not even Trump could be that deluded and grandiose. Yet I couldn’t get the image out of my mind. Now it nearly seems like a prophecy.

…it’s 3am! For some reason I can’t fall asleep. I’m wide-awake. Luckily, it’s the summer holiday, so I don’t strictly need to fall asleep now! However, it is still quite annoying! And of course by being annoyed, it becomes even more difficult to fall asleep! Luckily this doesn’t happen very often!
