I deactivated this acc a mont ago because the "serious studios don't use genAI" discourse felt navel-gazing and myopic in relation to the scope of the threat of genAI in games, like a chest-beating call and response to refuse looking at it. I was called names and shut down. I just came here to say:

Larian's horrible hirring process is an open secret in the industry – insane amounts of unpaid work in "writing tests", excessive numbers of interviews, months and months of back and forth, etc. Everyone in games narrative circles has heard the stories at this point, probably from multiple people.

All discourse I read today is about North Am./West. EU game studios not using genAI. Early this year I was told by reliable sources that most Asian studios use it. If that's true, then once again the bulk of devs is willingly ignoring the power shift in the industry, and becoming vulnerable to it.
