Our book approaches physical form! After some panicking about paper - which was both extremely stressful AND too boring to elicit any sympathy from friends and relatives - we got print proofs through that allayed all our fears. It looks and feels lovely. www.kickstarter.com/projects/149...
Happy Caturday! Gustave Doré - illus. for Charles Perrault's 'Puss in Boots' (1867)
One of those mornings where random phrases ring incessantly around my head like tinnitus. It's like having mental hiccups. First it was "Jacob Elordi" then "bicameral" and now "down the steps to Nogburg". That's not even a place! I assume this happens to other people...?
Entry n°290726 Let's get uncompromisingly old school.
The designation "cheddar" is woefully abused here in America, embracing a swathe of rubbery, orange material which is totally alien to the cheddar of my beloved Somerset. Trader Joe's "Unexpected Cheddar" is nonetheless very good; a crumbly cheddar with a crystalline crunch of parmesan.
People on Bluesky sigh and talk about The Discourse as if it were something required of them instead of something they opt to partake in, day in and day out. You really don't have to. Post about your favorite cheese
Wile E. Coyote, despaired, takes a bucket of paint and a brush and paints a beautiful two-bedroom house on a mountainside. He paints a beautiful coyote wife in the window, and two adorable coyote kids running around in the yard. He tries to enter this new coyote life, but it is inaccessible to him
Cool thread about a largely unheralded game which pioneered the survival genre, proc-gen, battle royale and hangout multiplayer. It friended so others could slop! (Also I drew a hunk of Stilton cheese and a stuffed badger for it - clearly its greatest contributions to gaming.)
One thing I never did was a post-mortem of Sir. Perhaps this is as good a time and place as any to talk about some of that. It started in 2010 when Channel 4 had some money to spend on making educational games. For some reason they asked me. ->thread
In surprising computer game news: Sir, You Are Being Hunted finally made it to console, just fourteen years after release on PC. It's out now on Switch, PS5, and Xbox. (And Steam and GoG, of course.)

Émile Friant, late-19C realist painter of provincial French life, first exhibited at age 15 and went on to create works such as this idyllic ‘Lovers, Autumn Evening’ (1888) Musée des Beaux-Arts de Nancy
photos cyanotypes ✨ im still figuring out how to make good negatives for that, but it's going somewhere!
About as gorgeous a book as you could make about being stalked by a psychosexual terrorbeast.
Got my first copies of Perfect Organism: The Assembly Cut in, and I'm blown away by the production values. Thanks to @lostincult.co.uk for not only saving the book from an Alien 3-style fiery lava abyss, but making the best possible version of it. 🔗 www.lostincult.co.uk/perfectorgan...

Dunno if I am more susceptible to synaesthesia as I get older, but the palette, the dithering, the chunky voxels... everything about this is literally delicious to me.
A game about exploring a spaceship definitely needs a nice automap. store.steampowered.com/app/3989530/...
Sounds the sort of thing you'd say if you were hiding Dracula's grave
A new example of Meta shithousery. This is a post of mine on Instagram (left). Click the dots top right and this advisory note appears (right). I never use ai, never will. Why would they do this? Who benefits? Are they just trying to make viewers think everything is genAI so they just accept it?
