Council tax is unfair and deeply regressive. The Green Party would implement a fairer land value tax instead.
Most life on this planet will die because people refuse to make small changes to their lifestyle, or accept even the slightest inconvenience I wonder how these people will feel when they’re gasping for clean air, fighting for scraps of food or unable to go outside because of the extreme weather

The cynic in me says that this story is designed to soften the blow when Burnham appoints some other neo-liberal ghoul as Chancellor. “At least it’s not Mahmood”, or “he’s shown good judgment in appointing a more popular candidate” And they won’t question how awful the ultimate appointee is

Which is not to take the focus off trans people, because of course these rules *won't* be applied equally.

Someone needs to tell London Labour Assembly Members who all abstained this week on a motion standing up for trans rights and challenging the EHRC. Why abstain on people's human rights and then "celebrate" Pride?
This jolted me slightly, partly because i said the same thing almost verbatim a few days ago I am 53 but my brain approaches life as though I am in my mid 30s. I do keep wondering if that will change at some point. (even typing 'I am 53' feels super weird)
