he's right.... staying in the shadows of X won't make atproto succeed. atproto need true apps and features people genuinely need to gain more popularity and attract new users
Bluesky's new CEO Toni Schneider on the platform's reputation for being a liberal bubble: "Yes, we definitely want that to change. It is already changing. It certainly wasn’t designed to attract one specific group of people."

Happy Friday! I've been building towards an "Atmosphere OS", where my atproto account is the identity layer on a real phone. I wrote a little bit about it here:
On an Atmosphere OS
What if an Atmosphere account could handle email, groupware, and device-level identity without putting Google or Apple at the center?

Just launched at Public Spaces in Amsterdam, The European Social Stack Open Declaration! A set of common principles agreed by complementary technology leaders 🫶 Read the declaration, add your signature, and share: european.social #EUSocialStack #Europe
I honestly don’t get the current standard.site embed, the subscribe button just goes to the publication instead of subscribing, seems like a “read article” button (that opens the article) would make way more sense (or a subscribe button that actually subscribes me ^^)
Sorry but I don't really like the ability to subscribe to someone from a social app to another one.... especially this being the primary action
v1.122 is rolling out today, featuring a better way to discover and share articles, blog posts and newsletters across the Atmosphere via new, dynamic Standard.site link cards. 🧵
We just set up shop over on surf.social, a new platform that combines Bluesky posts with podcasts, YouTube, RSS, and more — rolling it all into custom feeds. You can find us here: verge.surf.social vergecast.surf.social decoder.surf.social versionhistory.surf.social

I am thrilled to announce BlueSTEAL, a game that turns BlueSky accounts into collective cards. More information below ⬇️
Introducing BlueSTEAL: A game to collect (and steal) Bluesky accounts
Turn Bluesky as a collectible card. Buy accounts, hold them, or steal them from your friends in this new speculative game.

My new Portfolio is live! First time trying Claude Code and holy fuck it took me 4 hours to achieve this, I'm completely blown away by this 🤯 Check it out ➡️ matlfb.com

I just saw this article from @alexandreboero.bsky.social which confirms my thinking about how important it is to build a European digital sovereignty (though I believe it should be based on a decentralized and federated protocol such as ATProto) www.clubic.com/actualite-60...
À 1 euro par an, l'Europe pourrait avoir son propre réseau social, et l'idée géniale avance vraiment

I changed my mind its fucking dope
hideous.... at least they've finally brought video to podcasts
I redesigned @popfeed.social to focus on what matters most: logging media The app has huge potential on ATProto, but it needs to move away from the Bluesky interface. I’ve reimagined the UX to reduce friction and prioritize the core user goal See my full article here: pckt.blog/b/matlfb/ret...

Should an expand arrow point up or down? Components often struggle with the distinction between state and function. Find out why the answer might actually be in the button's shape. 👇 interfacecafe.com/the-state-of... #designsky
The State of Buttons
The button's complexity is a result of how flexible the concept of a button really is. It's just a region of space on screen that triggers some action.
