Souring a bit on jj. Something about our work repo very rarely triggers a big mess of conflicts on main and it can be a mess. I can use the op log and roll back, but I have to transplant the work done after the mass divergence event by hand.

Wow. > Spectacle is a feature of late capitalism in which life, rather than being directly lived, is perpetually mediated. There is always something between us and the thing we are supposed to be experiencing. I don’t talk to my mom; I text her. I don’t travel; I watch other people travel on YT.

This is the most perfect summary of tech culture right now: > i hate marriages, man, cracked friends give up their entire potential...bro you had one shot at generational wealth and you chose to marry a normal another human

Playing through the Wipeout Omega Collection in the evenings with my son watching. When I do something good, he mutters, "duuude." And when I crash out, it ends up in the nightly Wipeout Report that is delivered to my wife. I hope he doesn't grow out of this phase.

For awhile, I kept wondering why tech workers were so collectively docile how they allowed themselves to be treated on matters like RTO or AI. Now I realize: the type of person who comes in get their bag of cash and get out also tends not to push back on institutional structures.

Well this is massive: - Every non-US company sees how they can be cut off from US vendors with a snap of a finger. Non-US vendors getting free advertisement - What does this mean for US AI labs’ offices and employees outside the US? Reads pretty draconian What a mess
