Today was a good post day... A lovely surprise - my copy of the Dune 4-6 deluxe box set arrived from Penguin It feels *amazing* to get to hold these things in person. This is the fulfillment of a life-long dream after all…

Photo of a man with short brown hair and a short beard, smiling slightly at the camera, holding two hardcover box sets of Frank Herbert's Dune saga side by side, showing the spines of all six books: Dune, Dune Messiah, Children of Dune, God Emperor of Dune, Heretics of Dune, and Chapterhouse: Dune. Framed vintage film posters are visible on the wall behind him.Interior illustration spread from a Dune book, showing a red-suited female humanoid figure with a bald head reclining on an ornate dark throne against a yellow-green background, with a smaller shadowy cat- or demon-like figure crouched on the facing page.Close-up of three hardcover book spines standing upright, God Emperor of Dune, Heretics of Dune, and Chapterhouse: Dune by Frank Herbert, each in a different color treatment (brown, blue, teal), set against their green and gold illustrated slipcase featuring a moonlit desert landscapePhoto of Frank Herbert's Dune Saga Books 4-6 box set standing upright next to its three matching hardcover book covers laid out on a desk: God Emperor of Dune (brown, cloaked figure), Heretics of Dune (blue, figure silhouetted against a shattered moon), and Chapterhouse: Dune (teal, seated figure in a circular window). A computer monitor and desk items are visible in the background.

Please fucking support your creative friends. A lot of bad things are happening, but the news cycle blots out the goddamn sun and 24/7 doomscrolling is objectively bad for your mental health. Help the people who help you feel and stay human.

I just want to say that I hate everything about publishing a novel this fall; the world is on fire, my city is occupied, and I’m supposed to sell some characters I made up in my head to the 13 percent of people who still know how to read books
