Here’s archaeological evidence of archaeology! The top image shows the excavation area at the Ancestral Wichita site 14CO3 in Kansas, covered by a shed. The bottom image is a DEM of Difference between LiDAR captured in 2015 and 2023, showing up to a meter of accumulation of backdirt in that time!

This bluff on Ossabaw Island (Georgia) gets cut back up to 70cm a year from erosion due to more extreme tides, more frequent storms, and increased boat traffic. The erosion continually exposes archaeological features. Each year we assess and salvage what we can #archaeology #climatechange #heritage

This is really important! Writing a manuscript recently, I changed the analysis I was planning to do multiple times as I learned more about the research that had been done in that specific niche and identified gaps in the literature

The process of creating a lit review helps researchers understand what they are contributing and why it matters. Automating this process makes research less thoughtful.
