If the robots decide they want to make sustainable kerosene to fly around with they will eventually do it on Venus. But since robots live forever and have collective consciousness they probably don’t care about moving things from NYC to Paris in 7 hours instead of 7 days

Does the Spanish court ruling that swimmers, unlike fence-jumpers, cannot be immediately deported (because they have crossed no "barrier") amount to what US law would call an "attractive nuisance"? Could relatives of migrants who died swimming to Ceuta sue those judges? Assuming not, is that OK?

A first year above 2C in the mid-2030s now looks plausible. 0.5C was first passed in 1980, 1.0C in 2010 and 1.5C in 2024. The 15-year trend runs at 0.42C per decade. The 2026 and 2027 points for the current El Nino are estimates. We're not remotely ready!

Where would you move to, to be relatively safe when someone/thing builds an AI that wants to live, and the rest of humanity tries to engage loyal AIs to kill it? Would it be safest to be in the wilderness somewhere?
