Carlson has been talking about this for how many years? I suppose he has more fellow travelers now but for example Elon claimed he would do this, has actual money to do so, hasn’t, and is now just spending on republicans again in the midterms

The payoff to Flynn was a forerunner of what Trump wanted to do with his $1.8B slush fund to pay insurrectionists who beat up cops at the Capitol on Jan. 6. Republicans are pretending that shameful idea is “dead,” but they could reinstate it after Todd Blanche gets confirmed as AG. 4/4🧵

How Cornyn and Tillis’ deal on Blanche falls short of their demands

Trump has already said the GOP senators didn’t get anything beyond what Todd Blanche had already said.

In December 2015, before Trump won the presidency and chose Michael Flynn as his national security adviser, Flynn took a $45,000 fee for giving a speech in Moscow at an event for RT, a state-controlled Russian “news” outlet. Russian dictator Vladimir Putin sat beside him at the banquet. 2/4🧵

Russians paid Mike Flynn $45k for RT speech, documents show

The former director of the Defense Intelligence Agency earned more than $50,00 from giving speeches RT and two other Russian companies.

🧵🧵🧵 A scandal that hardly anyone knows happened is Trump giving traitor Michael Flynn $1.25 million in your tax money. Flynn, Trump’s 1st national security adviser, pleaded guilty twice to lying to the FBI but was pardoned by Trump. He sued, alleging "weaponization," and DOJ paid him in March. 1/4🧵

Justice Dept. Settles Flynn’s Wrongful Prosecution Suit for $1.25 Million (Gift Article)

The agreement was an extraordinary example of how the Trump administration has offered legal relief to those aligned with the president.

Kyiv claims that a North Korean unit equipped with approximately 120 ballistic missiles is being deployed in Russia. The Allies know what they must do: neutralize the archer rather than attempt, with all the uncertainties that entails, to shoot down the arrow. www.bfmtv.com/internationa...

SEN. COONS: The combination of Trump administration actually imposing sanctions on Russia, buyers of Russian oil and sanction evaders, and giving Ukraine the Patriot PAC-3 interceptors they need and deserve, could resolve this war in a matter of weeks, if not months at the most.

Good and important messaging, but it is striking how Muslim candidates are repeatedly defamed as “terrorists” and then have to turn around and issue such statements when there is no similar expectation that Christian or Jewish candidates need to do the same for their Muslim-American constituents.

Amazon says most refunds come from suppliers, not them, and pledges to reimburse customers only in a limited set of circumstances they haven't defined. That vagueness is doing a lot of work. The Supreme Court struck the tariffs down for everyone; companies like Amazon just hold the check.

Police using Flock to warrantless follow people across state lines is an act incompatible with our legal system--especially in a country where many things are legal in some states in criminalized in the other. First we saw it with abortion care, now we will see it with marijuana.

Cops Used Flock to Track a Man Across State Lines to Create Pretext to Search His Car for Weed

"The vehicle travels to Michigan frequently which is a known source state for marijuana as it is legal there," a probable cause justification reads.

as noted yesterday, Trump has now come around to treating an Iranian toll system covering the Strait of Hormuz as a given. Hard to overstate the level of strategic failure. US started the war purely as a war of choice and ends up dramatically empowering Iran and given the Iranian govt big wins.

Reuters: Iran wants fees of 5%-7% of the price of cargo from ships using the strait; Oman wants 3%. "Making fees voluntary, at least nominally, could be a way out of the impasse, although an implied threat of Iranian attacks could mean shippers would be unlikely to risk transit without paying."

btw if you’re ticked at AIPAC for whatever reason them spending a maximum amount of money to barely lose is ideal, 10/10, just as a pure matter of don’t-know-ball and forward outcome for them as an organization. this cycle has been catastrophic for them purely in terms of inputs and outputs
