it's easy to self-segregate yourself out of cis spaces over fears about the worst cis actors and while those risks are worth being aware of they shouldn't stop you from being in those spaces any more than they stop you from taking hormones or changing your name
tbh most cis people don't really care if you're trans as long as you make it's less than the third most interesting thing about you in any given situation
wild to me that the common understanding of t4t is that it's largely a safety thing when in my experience trans spaces can significantly worse about ignoring boundaries and rampant oversexualization as cis spaces tend to be
