Hypothetically, the caption text could have included any number of additional details, like how many ingredients or how long it takes. That is all suitable information one could include in caption text, should one choose. That kind of supplementary information works in a photo caption, not alt text.

The alt text doesn't mention who shot the photo or who styled it. That is not the type of information that a sighted person could identify just by looking at the image. The alt text focuses on what is actually in the image: creamy off-white soup topped with cauliflower florets and crushed pepper.

Alt text is not the same as a photo caption. Captions are typically written to support a photo, and usually depend on users being able to see the photo. But alt text is meant to be the stand-in for the photo. The alt text is what a screen reader user gets in place of the photo.
