Received a reply from Ian Murray, MP who supports this deal as he says it will enable UK pharma industry to export to the US. UK pharma industry worth £28 billion annually, he says.

I have now received a reply from my MP Ian Murray. Mr Murray supports the US-UK trade deal that will push up the costs for the NHS of imported US drugs as he believes this will help the UK pharma industry export to the US.

Harold Wilson, the last proper Labour PM, once said ‘the Labour Party is a moral crusade or it’s nothing’.
Hope the new Scottish parliament will be a constructive one but I can see energy becoming a flash point re SNP &Green co-operation as Stephen Flynn &Holly Bruce are at opposing ends on the future of the oil &gas industry in the NE. The issue tho really centres on employment & a just transition.

I wonder which way Labour in Wales will jump now? Under Mark Drakeford Wales had an outspoken leader who spoke up for Wales unlike in Scotland, where since devolution Labour did London’s bidding. That is why Scots started turning to the SNP whilst Labour did their best to undermine them.
These figures are very informative and show the volatility and instability of the UK post-Brexit. How could support for the Tories reach 42 and 43% in 2017 & 2019 but collapse in 2024? UK voters have since realised Brexit was a disaster but has the Labour Party? Too cautious on rejoining EU.

No UK general election since 1935 has seen the winning party reach a majority of the popular vote. • 2019 Tory: 43.6% • 2017 Tory: 42.3% • 2024 Labour: 33.7% (lowest-ever vote)
The best thing Labour could do in Wales right now is to join any coalition with Plaid C and the Greens. But if it puts its unionism above its socialism and joins a coalition with the unionists as Labour has done in Scotland, then it is doomed.
The time may soon come when those armchair pundits pretending to be independence supporters and recommending SNP2 Green2 will be shown to be wrong as urban contests are too tight to call.
