"We can strategically afford to throw this demographic under the bus to win an election now" is not a viable strategy when Trump and large parts of the GOP are actively working to murder them.

There was humanity in NYC as well. The humanity was: I noticed that for about six weeks following 9/11, people treated stop signs pretty seriously and even followed the rules at four-way stop signs. Waving each other through. That was all over by around Halloween.
