So proud of Margaret @mdedloff.bsky.social for a fantastic thesis defense! She used new microscopy and flow cytometry methods to show how IFN-L signaling in maternal immune cells protects against congenital ZIKV infection (this was so many timed pregnancy experiments!) Congratulations Dr. Dedloff!

The Stonewall Inn released a response to the National Parks Service removing the word transgender from the park outside of the Inn. A great reminder that we have to look after each other

The Stonewall Inn and The Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative are outraged and appalled by the recent removal of the word 'transgender' from the Stonewall National Monument page on the National Park Service website. This blatant act of erasure not only distorts the truth of our history, but it also dishonors the immense contributions of transgender individuals - especially transgender women of color - who were at the forefront of the Stonewall Riots and the broader fight for LGBTQ+ rights. Hey science friends? I know that many of you are concerned about the perceived neutral and apolitical role of science in decisionmaking. But scientists are being targeted. We didn't start it. And advocating *for the role of scientific evidence in policymaking* is not unprofessional advocacy.
