my poem, ❝dead human.❞ ꒷︶ଓ︶꒷꒦⊹๑°. #poem #poetry

❝dead human.❞

the wind on my face feels heavy at times
for reasons that i cannot comprehend.

or maybe i'm just desperately trying
to ignore the signs that i may be dead.

like how i try to look away
from my rotting skin on my hands.

or how my mind no longer screams
when it hurts too much to bear.

just when i thought things were better
but really, it has only been downhill.

it wasn't like this just months ago
but that too feels like a fever dream.

maybe i was just in denial of these
imperfections that i kept a secret.

maybe i was just trying to run away
from the fate that i knew i'd have.

maybe i was just too scared to go,
to take another step, so i stopped it all.

i stopped enjoying
the waves of the ocean.

i stopped enjoying
the art that i adored.

i stopped enjoying
writing little poetry.

i stopped enjoying
reading ink on paper.

i stopped enjoying
petting street animals.

i stopped enjoying
the morning birds chirp.

i stopped enjoying
the life that i live.

and maybe i threw it away.
maybe i left everything behind.
maybe i wasted my potential.
maybe i killed the human in me.

"butterflies"

there's a strange beauty
in the way your soul takes flight,
like a butterfly, drifting free
through the fading of the light.
there's a solemn smile that lingers
in the grief that took your face,
and a dull, quiet truth
in the moss that grows to trace
your name on the soulless stone.

bugs borrow deep in your skin.
your body turns all rotten.
a faded smile, a stoic face.
frozen in time, in one place.

still, i wish
i could look at you again,
fly alongside you like butterflies,
free from grief, free from pain.

i just want to be alive—
feel the wind on my face,
feel the sun on my skin,
feel the touch on my hand.

i just want to be alive—
with you and everyone else,
with all my memories i try to keep,
with those street cats i still pet.

i just want to be alive—
smile and say i'll be fine,
smile and push away it all,
smile and believe life's still good.

i just want to be alive—
but i know i shouldn't be selfish,
i know it's not my place to wish,
and i know i wont even deserve it.

i live :] ꪆৎ.⊹๑‧˚₊✿ #poem #poetry

and perhaps the storm had always been inside me.
perhaps i was just too stubborn to see it before my eyes.

or perhaps it was just a wake up call,
forcing me to look at the disaster i've created.
to look at the worlds i've doomed,
the lives i've left in infinite despair.

but perhaps i was only doing what felt right,
even though the broken cannot be repaired.

❝as the sky clears the dark it held for long, and trades its silence for a soft song, maybe then the world will feel less tight— a safer place where my shadows feel right.❞ — mel, nov 26 #poem #poetry

“a life still alive”

worms wiggle inside my rotten skin.
my favorite poems lay in the trash bin.
why cant i tell them how i truly feel?
why cant they understand im not a fish to reel?

one by one my fingers fall off my hands.
to write with it, my pen still demands.
when will i get up and be alright?
when will i stand out in the light?

but maybe one day the rot will fade,
daylight will hit where it was once shade.
perhaps i'll learn how to live again,
all my lost poems and memories i will regain.

❝she hummed a tune too familiar, her soft hands lightly brushing, placing each flower, slowly tugging at my heart strings— knowing she has me just wrapped around her fingers.❞ #poem #poetry

"flower crown"

on the hill,
oh, that hill;
where memories played like film.
her smile was wide,
the morning dew sweet on the breeze.
she sat beside me,
a bouquet of flowers resting on her lap.
she picked the tiny flowers
one by one,
tucking them into my hair
as if painting with petals,
each touch light as air.
fingers gentle,
the breeze held its breath,
and i, too, stayed still,
afraid this moment might flee.
petals fell softly,
a crown of quiet joy.
