“All I want is to live in peace, plant potatoes and dream”. Sadly, however, bills need paid so I’m an arts marketer, amateur singer, slow-but-trying runner & keen cook.

Having finished @jancarsonwrites.bsky.social's latest, Few And Far Between (HARD recommend), Tom's book Everything Will Swallow You is next and I'm looking forward to getting stuck in. Tom's had an horrific time of it of late, so do investigate his brilliant writing at www.tom-cox.com

A meadow hare, filled with flowers, cut from lino by my mum, Jo.

I have been using the good weather to finally sort my laundry pile, with the intention of doing a massive clothes clear out at the weekend. Before I simply haul the cast offs to the nearest charity shop, has anyone any better ideas for what to do with them? Will be in good nick. Belfast area, please

Watching the Masterchef final. I’ve just noticed that I actually take Anna’s assessments of each chef seriously; like I feel that she’s actually been paying attention and assessing them as they’ve gone through. Nice.

It is a sign of how tired I am that I just looked over at @solar76.bsky.social’s jumper on a chair and thought it was Dexter, the cat from 3 doors down who comes to hang out. It would not be unusual for him to be there, it’s one of his spots, but he has not called tonight and absolutely I know this.

Have hauled my croaky arse down to the QFT to see the new Marianne Faithfull doco, Broken English. I feel like I could currently deliver a pretty accurate rendition of Broken English right now, after this week’s exertions.

My choir were singing tonight - Brahms German Requiem; an absolutely dreamy piece & fab for altos. I got the best compliment from tonight’s conductor, who told our chorus director that my connection with him was so good I gave him confidence to conduct & I am an exemplary chorister. BUZZING!

Norn Irn week on Great British menu. Going in to see which vegetable they massacre the pronunciation of this year ( we STILL talk about kyarts/carrots after last year - I’m from Norn and it took me a beat to figure it out).
