Apartment is getting sprayed for pest control so I had to hole up Aisha and Gene in my closet as my studio apartment has no bedrooms to lock them in. It was either that or take them into work, but I figured the closet had more space to move and was familiar. Better than being in a carrier at work.

Latest Kurumizawa's Folly touches upon the movement to outlaw the publication of comics and pornography because "they're a corrupting presence on youth and adults alike." The sentiment persists to this day, and is no longer a conservative only thing. It's "antis" & "irony-poisoned" advocates as well

Kurumizawa's Folly, Chapter 24: "It's violent." "Lewd." Vulgar." "It leads to crime." This was their rationale...for burning manga along with pornography. Postwar chaos, rising youth crime. Rapid shifts in attitudes and culture. Concerned mothers, helpless to stop these forces. All these factors came together into one movement. The book-banning campaign of the 1950s. *There have been other instances of antimanga campaigns, but this specific incident refers to the specific activist movement against obscene and children-targeted mterial that reached its peak in 1955.

Over the past few weeks I've: 1) Been laid off due to downsizing 2) Pored through countless job listings where "AI First development" is the core value 3) Gotten rejected for jobs due to not having fluency with a thing built on theft on my CV
