As much as I love the happy faces and the fact that gamescom is, at heart, a consumer show, it’s been especially packed this year. Anyway, I’m done with my appointments and heading home. I had a lot of fun, but it gets more exhausting every year.

Is that just really low-res, or is the latest KH4 trailer using GenAI assets?
I was already skeptical about Wolverine (PS5) because the animations and gameplay looked like a reskin of the mediocre Spider-Man games and I also find it visually incredibly bland and uninspired. The previews have only reinforced that impression. At this point, I have zero interest left.
Funny enough, a GenAI company in the gaming space reached out asking if I'd cover them because I'd written an article about AI in gaming. If they'd bothered to translate it, they'd have realized I absolutely despise GenAI lol

Gamescom's coming up, and somehow my schedule is already way more packed than I wanted. Every single year I tell myself, "Next year I'll take fewer appointments so I can actually enjoy the con." And yet, every single year, I make the exact same mistake...
Amazon may have completely fumbled the delivery, but at least I only paid €40 for it. Digital could never. Let's see!
I'm not even kidding, this was the most immersive viewing experience I've ever had. The screen was HUGE. I couldn't see anything except the movie I was completely immersed. The film itself was okay.

This is exactly what I meant when I said people shouldn't be praising Xbox for letting these studios go indie instead of closing them outright like they usually do. It gave Xbox an easy way to dodge responsibility while leaving these studios to fend for themselves. Their future is up in the air.

Double Fine laid off 23 people, the studio tells me. Was around 90 people before this.

Denshattack! is one of the best games I've ever played and my Game of the Year so far. I knew I'd like it, but the nonstop creativity blew me away. Addictive arcade gameplay meets Tony Hawk, JSR, Crazy Taxi and pure video game magic. And I LOVE the characters. Masterpiece
If a team makes a game that gets great reviews and doesn't sell, that's a biz failing but the silver lining is you caught lighting in a bottle -- protect that team! It's worth its weight in gold. If you jettison the team but keep the biz people, I don't know what to tell you
It's an interesting move and makes a lot of sense for their community, a large part of which is LGBTQIA+. There are many douches on Twitter defending the Saudis, but there are also other concerns I understand. Savvy unfortunately isn't only involved with SNK - even if it's 100% here.

Black Flag Resynced takes everything that made the original so great and somehow makes it just a little worse. It's still good, but... oof.
AC Black Flag Resynced first impressions after 2 hours (beat the original 8 times): - Looks great, even if it's a bit oversaturated - Combat feels oversimplified and sluggish - Animations often feel choppy - Glad the original German dub is back - More Edward is always a win Let's see where it goes
