Man, that was an unexpectedly nice response to my Big Walk review, I thought. There must surely be a world of pain in store for me for the rest of the week. YEP.

My friend @lexluddy.xyz is struggling right now with the death of her dad. She could use all the hugs you have to spare. 💕🫂 Her dad's request was that folks donate to Médecins Sans Frontières' continued vital work in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and Egypt She'd really appreciate both. 🩷

Man, it's so frustrating when you don't really know where you stand with someone you used to be friends with
Last Big Walk post for a bit: the EDGE review of it is *exceptional*
The sound in Big Walk is genuinely award-worthy
Big Walk is out today! We've been SO lucky to get to work with @househouse.com on it, what an incredibly special experience. Here are some of @emaudible.bsky.social and @nicholaszhangaudio.bsky.social highlights that came up in one of our play tests, on working on the sound for the last 5 years 🔴🟡🔵
Imagine having committed to reviewing Fortune's Weave before watching this Direct! Couldn't be m– *checks notes* ah, ffs
The double space makes it look like you took a pause to throw up in your mouth before calling him a "writer", so it kinda works.
Belatedly caught up with this (the other Firezide Chats are well worth checking out, btw) and man, it's impressive how Kirk gets his interviewees to really open up. That's not as easy as you might think; there's an art to it.

My blog, Low Poly Mess, has plateaued. It currently makes £47 a month, but after fees I'd be surprised if I break even. If you hate it, fair enough, but if you enjoy reading it, I'd love your support (financial or spreading the word). I guess it's a hard sell, but I know it has fans! lowpolymess.com

in the epic The People Vs UK Media court case of our dreams, Liddle wouldn't be Exhibit A, but he'd certainly be an exhibit. handsomely remunerated throughout his life for spraying bile across the pages of whichever sociopathic rag would pay him. nice to the right people. had the correct prejudices
Still waiting to see a single example of Rod Liddle's apparently searing intellect or world-beating wit. When a writer dies, we see people quoting passages of their best work, their most memorable insights. We're simply being told he was "brilliant" without a shred of evidence to back it up.
Yeah, this is a good tip. Also because it means you sometimes forget you're carrying something until someone tells you
The biggest tip I will give everyone for Big Walk is to turn your HUD and crosshair off, really made every visual moment in the game feel so special

Man. What a game. Some great writing on it already, too. Just wait for the Edge review!
A thing I'll say about Big Walk is that if you're at all sold on it already, consider not reading any reviews until you've played it, because it's even better when you don't know what's coming. I tried to tread as lightly as possible in my review but probably spoiled a couple of small things.
I knew Big Walk was good when I played it for @alexspencerdale.bsky.social's Edge cover feature last year. I didn't anticipate how special the full game would be, nor that its ending would leave me floored. An unforgettable experience, which I grappled with for EG: www.eurogamer.net/big-walk-rev...

Visit the TechRadar home page and you'll see a deluge of Apple Arcade coverage! It took almost a whole week to try out all 279 games, so please justify me being allowed to play on a phone at my desk 9-5 by reading it.
What a great piece of writing here. I’be been feeling something similar to a note Abram hits: surrendering ourselves to the experience at hand regardless of whether or not it’s actually resonating can be meaningful and additive. Immersion and exposure can bring us closer to an experience, bonding ♥️
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth's excess is as unmistakable as it is endearing. A moving, messy journey that accumulates feeling through its best and, more importantly, its most tedious episodes. I love this game, and I'd love it if you checked this out! medium.com/@abrambuehne...

"I love the way he tells Eurylochus that he wants to be tied to the mast so that he can be the only one to hear the siren’s song. He sounds like he’s about to do a stunt on Jackass." SO TRUE.
