Réduire la chaleur urbaine grâce aux toits clairs

Des modifications ciblées au niveau des bâtiments et des espaces urbains peuvent réduire de manière significative l'impact des chaleurs extrêmes. C'est ce que révèlent de nouvelles recherches menées par la KU Leuven. Surtout ce qu'on appelle les "toits froids", c'est-à-dire les toits qui réfléchissent le rayonnement solaire au lieu de l'absorber, sont particulièrement efficaces. À Bruxelles, ils auraient pu prévenir jusqu'à un quart des décès liés à la chaleur pendant la canicule de juillet 2019.

Many of you observed the Northern Lights on the evening and night of 19 to 20 January. 📸 Our camera in Uccle also captured this moment between 8:55 p.m. and 10:10 p.m. 🤩 ℹ️ These Northern Lights were caused by a solar storm with an intensity of G4 on a scale of 5.
